Sct Albacore Rods

Designed for school tuna fishing from party boats and private sportfishers, primarily made for Pacific albacore in the 15–35 lb class. The SCT Albacore series covers the short-range jig-and-bait work that defines West Coast tuna trips: vertical jigging, iron, and live-bait freelining. Three casting models and one spinning variant give anglers options across different fishing styles; the H-power trolling-style model handles heavier iron and larger bait presentations. Blanks use Okuma's Spiral Carbon Technology (SCT), a dual-helix carbon fiber wrap of 6,000-plus strands over a 24-ton carbon base, which increases torsional stiffness without adding weight.

UFR tip reinforcement runs throughout. Hardware runs ALPS stainless guide frames with Titanium-Oxide inserts on casting models, Fuji DPS reel seats on spinning, ALPS aluminum reel seat on casting, a component spec that sits above typical mid-range party-boat rods. EVA grips with rubber gimbal butt caps on spinning/casting; aluminum gimbal on the AT trolling model. Lineup spans 6'6" and 7'0" MH casting for standard albacore work, one 7'0" MH spinning for those fishing conventional spinning gear, and a 6'0" H casting (SCT-AT-601H) with heavier line rating (30–60 lb) for larger iron or yellowtail situations.

All four use MF action. The shorter 6'6" suits crowded rail fishing; the 7'0" models give more leverage for longer casts and better line angle.
