Sst A Kokanee Trout Halibut Rods

The Okuma SST 'a' Kokanee, Trout and Halibut series is a multi-species light-tackle rod line covering inland and coastal cold-water applications: kokanee and lake trout trolling, freshwater trout spinning and casting, and nearshore halibut. The 'a' designator distinguishes this iteration from other SST sub-series. It is targeted at anglers who fish multiple cold-water environments and prefer a single brand solution across species. Freshwater models (spinning and casting from 5'6" to 8') use Okuma IM-8 graphite blanks with stainless steel guide frames and braid-ready zirconium inserts; handle material and reel seats are technique-matched by model.

Halibut models (SST-C-561Ha and SST-C-561XHa) are the exception, those use E-glass construction for the added shock-absorption and bend-through durability needed for bottom fishing with heavy sinkers. The metallic slate blank finish is consistent across the series. A product tip-fragility concern has been noted in some customer reviews. The 12 models divide into three clear groups: two short 5'6" casting H and XH halibut models with heavy 50-120lb line ratings; six UL spinning models (5'6"–8') for ultra-light trout; and four L-power models (7' and 7'6" in both spinning and casting) for kokanee trolling and larger trout.

The UL ceiling of 3/8oz and L ceiling of 1oz reflect the light presentation demands of kokanee and stream trout.
