Okuma's SST-A Travel series is a 4-piece spinning travel rod line made for cold-water West Coast species, salmon, steelhead, trout, sturgeon, halibut, and kokanee. Multi-piece construction stows in a protective rod tube sized for airline overhead bins, making these viable for travel to remote rivers or charters. The series is outside the generic multi-purpose travel rod lane, actions and powers are selected for the specific techniques associated with PNW and West Coast fisheries: mooching, drift fishing, bobber fishing, and light surf casting.

IM8 graphite blanks with braid-ready zirconium inserts on stainless steel guide frames. Custom reel seats and a metallic slate finish are consistent throughout. The SST-S-704M-CGa model includes a cork grip insert for added feel. Models range from 6'6" L through 8'6" MH, all with MF action, moderate-fast suits the bite-and-fight profile of steelhead and salmon on lighter leader materials. Five spinning models: 6'6" L (SST-S-663La) for trout/kokanee with ultralight presentation, 7'0" M (SST-S-704M-CGa) general salmon/steelhead, 7'6" MH (SST-S-763MHa) for sturdier steelhead and coho work, 8'6" M (SST-S-1064Ma) is actually 10'6" (model suffix mismatch in lineup, spec lists it as 10'6"), and 8'6" MH (SST-S-863MHa) for heavier current or halibut.
