Spec 2 is RGM's multi-piece spinning rod lineup for freshwater trout and light saltwater fishing. The core spec.2 covers three lengths: 5.5ft (1.65m), 6.5ft (1.96m), and 7.5ft (2.26m), with Ultra Light through Medium Light action. Carbon runs 85-92%; all three pack to 44.5-50cm in 5- or 6-piece construction and include a Fuji guide set. Lure ratings span 1-21g and line 2-12lb, covering area management pond trout fishing through medium freshwater spinning.
The spec.2 4.0/4.6 sub-model adds two shorter versions at 1.22m (4'0") and 1.37m (4'6"), both packing to 28.8cm. Carbon drops to 53-54%, reflecting a softer, more parabolic blank suited to chubbing and tanago work on very light lures up to 4-5g. The spec.2 CHUB 5.5 is a 1.66m (5'5") 6-piece model with a revised blank versus the standard spec.2 5.5; it carries 0.4-3g lures on 2-4lb line and packs to 40.7cm. The CHUB designation indicates a blank optimized for the soft-mouthed common carp called chub (chubbing style), where sensitivity at very low weights matters more than casting distance.
The Spec 2 family spans 4.0ft to 7.5ft and fits in a tote bag or shoulder bag at packed length. All spec.2 models include Fuji guides. The 4.0/4.6 versions omit the branded guide set noted on the main range, reflecting their lower carbon and price tier.

Shortest model in the spec.2 family at 4'0" and 28.8cm packed (8 pieces). The 53% carbon blank is notably soft, suited to presenting very light lures to chub and tanago at close range. Weight of 70g makes it extremely light to hold one-handed over long sessions.
The 5.5ft is the entry point to the spec.2 line and a carry-in-a-tote-bag rod. 5-piece at 44.5cm packed. Covers area trout on light spoons and ajing-style sea fishing on micro-jigs. Fuji guides throughout.
Revised blank versus the standard spec.2 5.5, optimized for chubbing at very light weights (0.4-3g). 67g rod weight is lighter than the standard 5.5 (79g) despite the same length; the 90% carbon blank is also higher than the standard model's 88%.
