The Marble Eye is TFO's dedicated walleye spinning series, made for walleye, sauger, and related cool-water species through jigging, rigging, and light live-bait presentations. The name references the walleye's distinctive eye. It is built for a style of fishing that demands exceptional sensitivity with a light touch, walleye are notorious for subtle strikes and require the angler to detect contact before the fish drops the bait.
Not suitable for bass, salmon, or heavier lure applications. Blanks are Toray IM carbon fiber with technique-specific actions throughout. Fast action across the series suits the vertical jigging and snap-jigging techniques common in walleye fishing. The build includes TFO's Fuji guide system. The 5'10" MH outlier is particularly short and stiff for jigging vertically from a boat, distinct from the broader spinning applications of the rest of the series.
TFO includes its full lifetime warranty. Eight spinning models. Lengths run from a compact 5'10" to a long 8'6". The 6'6" slot has three power variants (L, ML, M) for different jigging weights and current conditions. The 7' slot has ML and M for longer casting/rigging. The 7'6" ML and the 8'6" ML are drift-fishing and river rigging tools where length controls the presentation. All models use fast action.
Deeper Dive
A closer look at notable models.
Shortest and most powerful model. The compact length and MH power indicate vertical jigging from a boat in current, where rod length would be a hindrance. Heavier lure range (up to 1 oz) covers fast-water jigging with heavier heads.
Light-power finesse end of the series. 1/16–3/8 oz lure range and 4–8 lb line for ultra-finesse jigging in clear, pressured water or ice-out conditions when walleye are shallow and sluggish.
Longest model (T suffix likely indicates two-piece). At 8'6" ML it is built for long-distance rigging on rivers and reservoirs, sweeping hooksets require length, and moderate lure weight keeps it in live-bait and light-jig territory.
