A Great Lakes and Pacific Northwest steelhead casting series from Temple Fork Outfitters, built for mooching, back-bouncing, and side-drifting presentations from a drifting boat or bank position. Both models are 9' casting rods, the standard length for steelhead drift fishing where long drifts and mend control matter. Line ratings of 8–20lb cover monofilament and fluorocarbon presentations common in steelhead technique.
Suited to bait and lure presentations only. High-modulus carbon fiber blanks with a stiff lower section for long hook sets and turning large fish in current; Atlas Performance SS304 guides with deep-pressed inserts reduce ice buildup in cold conditions, a practical feature for winter steelhead fishing. Oversized guide frames on lower sections also assist in cold-weather casting. Premium cork handles; matte gunmetal finish to reduce rod flash.
TFO's lifetime warranty is a relevant value consideration. Two models differentiated by power: M (SDC 904-2, 8–15lb, 1/4–3/4oz) and MH (SDC 905-2, 10–20lb, 3/8–1oz). The M model suits lighter bead and drift presentations; the MH handles heavier plugs, roe bags, and larger spinners where more backbone is needed. Both are 9' fast action.

A closer look at notable models.
Lighter of the two, suited for bead fishing, light jig presentations, and finesse drift rigs in lower-gradient water or smaller steelhead rivers. 8–15lb line covers both fluorocarbon and mono approaches.
The heavier-duty option for larger rivers, big plugs, and situations where steelhead need to be turned quickly. Handles heavier spinners and egg sacks in higher-flow conditions.
