Ballistick
Seabass and surf rods from 7'6" to 10'10", spigot-ferrule blanks on titanium guides
Ballistick is Yamaga Blanks' seabass and surf series. The current rods, dated 2025 and 2026, follow the earlier Ballistick and Ballistick Evo seabass series in the company history. The six spinning models are spigot-ferrule blanks of 99.6 to 99.8 percent carbon on titanium-frame Fuji SiC guides; the bait model is a grip-joint build. Japanese retail runs from ¥57,000 to ¥69,500 before tax.
The surf models share a strong butt for landing fish in heavy surf and for large mulloway or bluerunners. The 10'6" 106M-MH (7 to 50 g, PE 0.8 to 2) is the versatile surf rod, light with heavy lures yet able to fish jigheads and small plugs. The 10'10" 1010MH (10 to 60 g, PE 1 to 2) is built for distance with heavy jigs and jig minnows into headwinds. The 10-foot 100ML (6 to 40 g, PE 0.6 to 1.5), added for 2026, is a surf finesse model for pressured beaches and small-bait feeding that Yamaga calls line-friendly: it flexes smoothly to protect thin line and small hooks.
The seabass models carry split power ratings. The 9-foot 90ML-M pairs an ML tip with an M belly and butt for drift, soft-plastic and plug reaction fishing from urban seawalls to wading flats. The 7'10" 710ML-MH has an ML tip over a butt Yamaga rates as stiff as the 95MH, for shooting small waterways and structure. The 9'5" 95MH casts 15 to 17 cm baits for lunker seabass in strong river current, and the 7'6" 76M-XH/B is a bait rod rated 20 to 180 g for big baits on PE 4 to 5 and standard minnows on PE 2 to 3.
