Galahad
1-piece offshore jigging rods, five spinning and four bait, rated by PE class 2 to 6
Galahad is Yamaga Blanks' main offshore jigging series and the first series the brand launched, rebuilt for 2019. Yamaga describes the renewal goals as jig control, a flexible tip and a strong butt, with the sensitivity to read small changes in current and a quick response to the angler's input on short and long strokes. The last digit of each model code gives the maximum PE class (the 632S is PE 2, the 526S PE 6), and every model is a 1-piece rod on Fuji SiC guides.
There are five spinning models. The 632S, 633S and 634S are 6'3" rods with flexible tips for a natural jig swim and a rhythmic belly and butt: the 632S takes jigs to 140 g to about 60 m and suits pressured fish and fine-wire hooks, the 633S is the inshore all-rounder to 180 g, and the 634S, the backbone of the range, works long jigs to 220 g in deep water, fast current and around reefs. The 585S (to 280 g) and 526S (to 350 g) are stiffer, shorter rods for high-pitch vertical jigging on kanpachi, hiramasa and dogtooth tuna.
The four bait models are the 622B (to 150 g on PE 2) for light-line technical work, the 623B (to 200 g), the core bait model for slow one-pitch, long-fall and high-pitch jerks, the 624B (to 250 g) for hiramasa and kanpachi in fast current and deep water, and the 526B (to 350 g), the bait version of the 526S for water to about 200 m. Yamaga ended production of the 526S and 526B in 2025.

All 9 modelsStiff 5'2" 1-piece spinning rod for PE 6 and jigs to 350 g, built for high-pitch jigging on large kanpachi, dogtooth tuna and hiramasa in the Kuroshio region in water to 200 m. Production ended in 2025.
Bait version of the 526S blank, a 5'2" 1-piece rod for PE 6 and jigs to 350 g, for large kanpachi, dogtooth tuna and yellowfin to about 200 m in two-layer currents. Production ended in 2025.
5'8" 1-piece high-pitch vertical rod for PE 5 and jigs to 280 g, aimed at hiramasa, kanpachi and dogtooth tuna to about 120 m. A slim, short, fast-responding blank that works any jig shape.
6'2" 1-piece bait rod for PE 2 max and jigs to 150 g, for light-line technical jigging to about 80 m. Covers swimming retrieves, short-pitch jerks and fall actions for yellowtail and hiramasa.
Core 6'2" 1-piece bait model for PE 3 and jigs to 200 g to about 100 m, from slow one-pitch and long fall to high-pitch jerks. Built for fine pitch adjustment on yellowtail, hiramasa and kanpachi.
6'2" 1-piece bait rod for PE 4 and jigs to 250 g to about 120 m, aimed at hiramasa and kanpachi in fast current and deep water. A slim, sharp blank for both high-pitch and slow fall actions.
6'3" 1-piece spinning rod for PE 2 and jigs to 140 g to about 60 m, with a tip that does not bounce bites and a supple blank that protects fine-wire hooks. Suited to pressured aomono that want a natural jig.
Inshore all-rounder, a 6'3" 1-piece rod for PE 3 and jigs to 180 g to about 80 m, from drift one-pitch to vertical combination jerks. Yamaga suggests it over the 632S when jigs around 150 g are the main weight.
Backbone 6'3" 1-piece spinning model for PE 4 and jigs to 220 g to about 100 m, good with long jigs in deep water, fast current and wind. Has the power for hiramasa in the shallows and reef work where fish cannot be allowed to run.
