EARLY for Seabass

Two long-casting seabass rods, a 9'3" M and a 9'7" M-MH, for rivers, piers and rocks

EARLY for Seabass is the seabass pair in the EARLY All Casting family, built to what Yamaga Blanks calls standard characteristics: a forgiving release point so long casts take little effort, light weight for casting all day, a tip that registers small bites, and a blank that bends in after the hookset to cut the hook pulls stiff rods cause. The lengths suit wading shallows, rocks, boulders, piers and breakwaters.

The 9'3" 93M (7 to 35 g, PE 0.8 to 1.5, 147 g) is the all-rounder for long casts in rivers and from piers, and Yamaga notes that it handles high-resistance metal vibration lures well. The 9'7" 97MMH (8 to 42 g, PE 1 to 2, 156 g) is for strong currents in large rivers and straits and for rock and boulder shores: its tip works 9 cm minnows and sinking pencils, it casts big baits to 15 cm, and its butt is meant to stop large pre-spawn seabass. Both are two-piece put-over-ferrule rods on Fuji SiC K guides and VSS16 seats, dated 2021, at ¥37,500 and ¥38,000 before tax.
