Galahad Electric
1-piece bait jigging rods for electric reels, jigs to 150, 250 and 350 g
Galahad Electric is the electric-reel branch of Yamaga Blanks' Galahad jigging range, sold in Japan as Galahad 電 (Galahad EPR on the English site). The three 1-piece bait rods, released in 2016 and 2017, pair a flexible tip with a strong butt so the rod follows the constant retrieve of an electric reel without bouncing the jig. Yamaga describes the action as close to parabolic, which also suits manual bait reels. Ratings are jig maximums with matching PE ceilings.
The 633B is a 6'3" rod for jigs to 150 g on PE 3, aimed at inshore aomono, including fish around 10 kg, to about 100 m, and suited to soft actions when fish are reluctant. The 624B is the core model, a 6'2" rod for jigs to 250 g on PE 5 for drift (dotera) and vertical jigging to about 150 m, with albacore listed among its targets. The 586B is the high-power 5'8" model for jigs to 350 g on PE 6, built for hiramasa (yellowtail amberjack) and kanpachi (greater amberjack) at remote islands, in two-layer currents and on vertical drops past 100 m, to about 200 m.
