19 Argento Prototype
High-end seabass spinning rods with titanium Torzite guides, 9' to 11'5"
Argento Prototype is Olympic's high-end seabass series, fully remodelled in 2019 with the aim of combining a firm blank for casting distance and lure control with the flex to control a large fish. Olympic built it on recent high-modulus, high-strength Toray materials for a light, stiff blank, and the silver grip finish follows the series name, Argento being Italian for silver.
Every model uses titanium-frame Torzite guides; the 902LML and 942ML are set up with single-foot guides throughout, and the 1003M has a double-foot stripping guide. Olympic fits its own carbon pipe reel seat, which lets the reel foot position be set where the angler wants it, with an EVA grip and a spigot ferrule. The 1003M uses a grip joint for an asymmetric three-piece build that packs down for travel. The lineup runs from the 9' 902LML and 9'4" 942ML, both rated to 28 g on PE 1.2, through the 10' 1003M (to 45 g, PE 2) to the 11'5" 1153MH (to 50 g, PE 2.5).
