24 Argento UX
Entry seabass spinning rods with a mild action, 9' to 9'8"
24 Argento UX is the renewed entry level of Olympic's Argento seabass range. Olympic set a mild action that handles many lure types and a wide release point that makes the rods easy to cast, and offers three lengths matched to common seabass settings, with anglers new to seabass in mind. The blank uses high-modulus carbon for a slim, light but firm feel, with Graphite Cross LV in the butt section to tune twisting and crush stiffness while keeping weight down.
All three are two-piece spinning rods with stainless-frame SiC guides, a put-over ferrule (逆並継), a slim Fuji VSS seat in an up-locking layout and a split EVA grip. The 9' 902LML suits harbours and small rivers with small minnows and sinking pencils, rated 5 to 21 g. The 9'3" 932ML is the all-round model for minnows and vibration lures in harbours and large rivers, rated 7 to 28 g. The 9'8" 982M is for large rivers and surf, casting large minnows and heavy sinking pencils far for big seabass, rated 7 to 40 g. Line ratings run to PE 1.2, 1.5 and 2 respectively, and Japanese retail is ¥26,500 to ¥27,500 ex-tax.
