24 Calamaretti Prototype
High-end Calamaretti shore eging rods on Torayca M40X and T1100G, 7'9" to 8'9"
Calamaretti Prototype is Olympic's high-end shore eging series and, by Olympic's statement, the lightest Calamaretti made. The 2024 full model change, the first in six years, uses Toray Torayca M40X and T1100G through the blank, with Super Quattro Graphite Cross LV and the patented G-MAPS process in the butt. Guides are titanium frame with Torzite rings on all but the SiC top guide, in a T2 colour frame, with spigot ferrules, VSS downlock seats, split EVA grips and a balancer plate in the end cap. The series is sold through Olympic's authorised dealers.
The 7'9" 24GCALPS-792ML/M is the shortest, built for crisp action on fast-paced autumn run-and-gun with a butt for spring squid. The 8'3" 24GCALPS-832ML is the versatile core model with a slightly soft tip, and the 2025 25GCALPS-832M-HS+ adds Olympic's Torayca T1100G Solid HS+ tip, a firm short solid that still jerks like a tubular rod. The 8'6" 24GCALPS-862M is the rocky-shore counterpart to the 832ML for long casts, and the 8'9" 24GCALPS-892L/ML is the longest, for high breakwaters, rocks and surf.
Egi ratings run from 2 to 3.5号 on most models and 2.5 to 4号 on the 862M, all on PE 0.4 to 1.
Shaded band: the spread of the lineup's 5 models, as percentile rank among same-type rods. Solid line = series median · dashed ring = catalog median.

Model notes
All 5 models7'9" shortest Calamaretti Prototype, whose high-modulus recoil and quick swing give casting distance close to longer rods, with crisp egi action for fast autumn run-and-gun. Rated for 2 to 3.5号 egi on PE 0.4 to 1; Olympic rates it ML/M.
8'3" ML core model with a slightly soft tip that converts close and mid-range bites and a light, stiff butt for large squid, covering short and slack jerks across the seasons. Rated for 2 to 3.5号 egi on PE 0.4 to 1.
8'3" M with Olympic's Torayca T1100G Solid HS+ tip, a firmer short solid that reads changes underwater while the blank still jerks like a tubular model. Rated for 2 to 3.5号 egi on PE 0.4 to 1.
8'6" M rocky-shore rod paired with the 832ML, built for long casts and control at mid to long range, with the recovery to lift large spring squid from well offshore. Rated for 2.5 to 4号 egi on PE 0.4 to 1.
8'9" longest model, combining a stiff high-modulus blank with flex from its length, for high breakwaters, rocks and surf without tiring the angler. Rated for 2 to 3.5号 egi on PE 0.4 to 1; Olympic rates it L/ML.
