24 Finezza Prototype
High-spec Finezza mebaru rods with T1100G, G-MAPS and Olympic OP-01 or OP-02 seats
Finezza Prototype is the high-spec line of Olympic's Finezza mebaru family, which the maker places close to its high end. The 2024 model change puts an Olympic carbon reel seat on every model (OP-01 on the 722L-S and 722L-T, OP-02 on the 782LML-HS+ and 842ML-T, all up-lock) and builds the blanks with Torayca T1100G in places, Super Quattro Graphite Cross LV and the patented G-MAPS construction. Joints are spigot ferrules and guides are titanium-frame Torzite with an SiC top.
The two 7'2" models split by tip. The 722L-S has a supple solid tip for vertical lift-and-fall jighead work and tiny sinking pencils, and the 722L-T is the tubular-tip all-rounder for horizontal retrieves with jigheads and small plugs. The 782LML-HS+ carries the Torayca T1100G Solid HS+ for carolina and split-shot rigs and slightly heavier jigheads, balancing hooking and taking bites. The 842ML-T is the distance model for heavier jigheads, carolina and float rigs from rocks and cobble beaches, with butt power for large fish around breaks and submerged rocks.
Ratings run from 0.5 to 15 g on 2 to 6 lb or PE 0.15 to 0.8, and Japanese retail from ¥53,000 to ¥56,000 ex-tax. The series is part of Olympic's Susami brand.
