Olympic's flagship ajing rods on Torayca M40X with Torayca T1100G Solid HS+ tips
Super Corto is Olympic's flagship ajing rod, relaunched for 2024. The blank uses a large share of Toray Torayca M40X, with Torayca T1100G in places, Super Quattro Graphite Cross LV and Olympic's patented G-MAPS construction, and Olympic kept paint and decoration on the blank to a minimum. The two solid-tip models carry the new Torayca T1100G Solid HS+, which Olympic describes as lighter, firmer and more sensitive than its previous hard solid tip. Joints are spigot ferrules, guides are titanium-frame Torzite with a titanium-frame SiC-S top in T2 colour, and the OP-01 carbon reel seat is fitted in a down-lock layout, with an IPS seat on the 642L-T.
The 582UL-HS+ is the specialist for jigheads under 1 g, with a tip that lets the angler feel the rig's load in the current (motare) without spoiling bites and a belly that bends smoothly. The 612L-HS+ covers jigheads to split-shot rigs with a crisp tip and a continuous bend from belly to butt. The 642L-T is a tubular-tip model with M40X over its full length, built to bend through the whole blank while keeping the clear feel of a tubular tip. Weights run 44 to 48 g and maximum ratings 3, 5 and 6 g. The series is part of Olympic's Susami brand and is sold through its authorised dealers, at ¥78,000 to ¥80,000 ex-tax.
