24 Vento Prototype
Light shore jigging rods on Torayca M40X and T1100G, 9'6" to 10' for jigs to 60 g
Vento Prototype is Olympic's light shore jigging series. The main ply uses Toray Torayca M40X and T1100G for low weight and power: the #1 section is T1100G and M40X (T1100G only on the 962ML), and the #2 section combines M40X, Super Quattro Graphite Cross LV and Olympic's patented G-MAPS construction. Mid-size aomono (yellowtail and other pelagics) are the main target, with a blank meant to bend into larger fish as well. Olympic's own guide layout keeps casting distance, and the lengths are chosen so anglers can keep jerking through a feeding window. The series is built mainly for metal jigs but also handles plugs, including surf fishing.
All three spinning models use titanium-frame Torzite guides with a SiC top, a spigot ferrule, an up-locking Fuji VSS seat, a split EVA grip and a hard cork butt end; the 1003M uses a grip joint for an asymmetric three-piece build. The 9'6" 962ML is the lightest, for jigs around 30 g, rated to 50 g and plugs to 40 g. The 962M is the most powerful, for jigs of 50 g and more in faster current, rated to 60 g. The 10' 1003M is the longest, for jigs around 40 g, with a milder tip that also suits flatfish in the surf. All are rated to PE 2.
