Calamaretti Omorig is the 2025 full model change of Olympic's Calamaretti rods for omorig, the boat method of casting a sinker rig with a small egi for squid. The concept carries over, with a stronger butt for a wider weight range and Olympic's OP-02 carbon reel seat in a downlock position so bites register in the hand as well as on the tip. Blanks mix carbon of several moduli with Graphite Cross LV in the butt, with stainless-frame SiC-S guides and spigot ferrules.
The 6'3" 25GCALS-632ML/M-S is the approachable solid-tip model, close to ikametal with lighter weights yet rated to 35号 (about 131 g). The 6'7" 25GCALS-672M-S pairs a fine solid tip with butt power for sinkers to 40号 (150 g) and suits waters from the Pacific to the Sea of Japan. The 7' 25GCALS-702MH-T is the only tubular-tip model and the most powerful, rated to 45号 (about 169 g) for waters that call for heavy weights.
The 2023 6'3" 23GCALS-632ML-S stays in the lineup with its own specification: a VSS seat, titanium-frame SiC guides at the top and tip, G-MAPS in the butt and a 30号 (about 113 g) rating.
