25 Tiro MR
Spinning rods for large rockfish from shore, M/MH to H, 7'8" to 8'3" for rigs to 60 g
Tiro MR is the rockfish branch of the Tiro family, rebuilt from scratch in 2025 for what Olympic calls monster rockfish. The redesign makes the blank lighter for quicker handling and better sensitivity while keeping the power and strength to pull large rockfish away from cover, and the balance point was moved closer to the hand. The blank blends carbon of several moduli with Quattro Graphite Cross XX in the butt section.
All three models are two-piece spinning rods with stainless-frame SiC-S guides, a put-over ferrule (逆並継), Olympic's OP-02 carbon reel seat in a down-locking layout and a split EVA grip with no fore grip. The 7'8" 782M/MH-MR is the short, technical model for accurate casts to pinpoint spots and careful presentations when fish are reluctant. The 8'1" 812MH-MR is the all-round model for most rigs and conditions. The 8'3" 832H-MR is the power model that can cast 2 oz rigs and is built for big fish holding in deeper water further out. Ratings run from 7 to 60 g, with 8 to 25 lb nylon or fluoro and PE 0.6 to 2.
Shaded band: the spread of the lineup's 3 models, as percentile rank among same-type rods. Solid line = series median · dashed ring = catalog median.
