26 Bellezza Prototype
Hooking-style area trout rods on T1100G and M40X, five models 5'7" to 6'7"
26 Bellezza Prototype is the new version of the Bellezza Prototype, a series Olympic says offered the hooking-style action now common in area trout from early on. The blanks use Toray Torayca T1100G and Torayca M40X (T1100G only on the 572XUL-S and 582SUL-T) with low-modulus carbon, plus Super Quattro Graphite Cross LV and G-MAPS in the butt. The guides are titanium-frame Torzite with an SiC top, set up for ester line, on spigot ferrules, with a slim original reel seat in dyed maple and a high-grade cork down-locking grip. Prices run from ¥54,000 to ¥58,000.
The 5'7" 26GBELPS-572XUL-S has a solid tip for micro spoons and micro cranks when fish will not hook on a tubular tip, and its stiffer tubular section also works vertical presentations (0.2 to 2.5 g). The 5'8" 582SUL-T covers the common 1.6 g spoons and cranks; the 6'1" 612UL-T takes heavier spoons and full-size cranks, with a fast taper for twitching minnows; the 6'4" 642L-T is the most powerful, for large plugs and big trout in large ponds (1 to 7 g); and the 6'7" 672SUL-T is for long casts to large fish far out in big ponds.
Shaded band: the spread of the lineup's 5 models, as percentile rank among same-type rods. Solid line = series median · dashed ring = catalog median.
