Entry-level light boat casting rods for minnows and blade jigs, 6'3" ML and 7' M
Protone UX BC is Olympic's entry-level light boat casting line, sold as a 2027 model with an advance release from autumn to winter 2026. It is built for the minnows and blade jigs that light boat casting relies on, with power held in reserve for an unexpected large fish. The blanks combine materials of several moduli, with Graphite Cross LV in the butt section, and both models carry stainless-frame SiC-S guides, a put-over ferrule (逆並継), Olympic's OP-02 carbon reel seat in uplock and a separated EVA grip.
The 6'3" 632ML is the short model for handling on deck, accurate casts to small targets and seabass, with sawara and inada or hamachi (young yellowtail) also in range; it casts to 40 g on PE 1.5. The 7-foot 702M covers vibration lures and metal jigs as well as minnows and blade jigs, rated to 60 g cast and 130 g vertical on PE 1.5, and is aimed at covering water quickly in sawara fishing.
