Meisho Ikada Kakewaza
Raft (ikada) rods for chinu with a glass solid tip, 1.3 m and 1.6 m
Meisho Ikada Kakewaza (名匠筏 掛技) is Olympic's raft (ikada) rod for chinu, black sea bream. The #1 tip section is a glass solid tip with paint and thread wrapping kept to a minimum to lighten the end of the rod, and Olympic states it shows bites clearly even under the load of a 4B split shot or more. The #1 is interchangeable with the earlier Meisho Ikada, and the page warns that PE line cannot be used with the series.
Two models are listed: the 1.3 m Kakewaza 130 and the 1.6 m Kakewaza 160 Ochinu (大チヌ, for large chinu), both 3-piece rods for sinkers of 0 to 2号 on nylon of 0.6 to 2.5号, weighing 67 g and 75 g. Fittings are Olympic's own micro guides, a VSS reel seat, a cork separate grip and a light champagne-gold butt cap with an Olympic plate. The grip detaches so the solid tip can be stored in a holder inside it. Prices are ¥55,000 and ¥57,000, and the rods belong to Olympic's Susami brand.
Shaded band: the spread of the lineup's 2 models, as percentile rank among same-type rods. Solid line = series median · dashed ring = catalog median.
