Elixir (2-piece)

The Elixir (2-piece) is Phenix's ultralight freshwater lineup made for trout and panfish anglers who prioritize sensitivity and finesse presentation. The series handles micro lures down to 1/32oz and light line to single-digit lb, making it unsuitable for anything requiring backbone. It is a dedicated light-tackle tool, outside the crossover rod lane. Blanks are built from high-modulus Ultra Graphite, which Phenix markets for sensitivity and low weight.

Essex SiC guides are specified throughout. The reel seat uses a custom burl wood design, and split-grip cork handles keep weight low. Models break into two distinct action groups: a lighter set (power 1, lure 1/32–1/4oz, line 1–6lb) covering 6'–7'6" and a heavier set (power 2–3, lure 1/8–1oz, line 3–10lb) covering 7'–8'6". The "FG" and "SG" suffixes denote finish color variants (frosted green vs. Silver grey) with otherwise identical specs. A cosmetic split, outside the performance one lane.

All 24 models are spinning rods across 6'–9' lengths, organized by two intersecting variables: length (6', 6'6", 7', 7'6", 8', 8'6", 9') and lure/line rating group. The 8' and 8'6" models include a moderate-fast (MF) action variant at the lightest power tier, suggesting an extended-reach nymphing or wade-fishing application. The 9' models push into light surf or float fishing territory at the top of the lineup.
