Virtus Red Diamond (VRD) is Phenix Rods' tournament-tier bass platform, built in the Ozark Mountains, USA. Blanks combine carbon fiber and graphite in technique-specific tapers, with each rod passing more than 20 quality control checks during manufacturing. Components are Fuji guides and Fuji reel seats over natural cork split grips with integrated hook keepers.
Model codes start with VRD followed by C (casting) or S (spinning), length in inches, and a power/action stack with optional technique suffix. Suffixes mark dedicated tunes: FJ for football jig, SB for swimbait, and SJ for swim jig. Unsuffixed models cover general technique mapping, including jerkbait, crankbait moderate tapers (MM, MMC), flipping/pitching heavies, and extra-fast worm rods.
The casting range runs 6'8" to 7'10" across MH to XH powers, addressing jerkbait, crankbait, jig, worm, frog, swimbait, and flipping work. Spinning models span 6'10" to 7'6" in ML to MH powers for finesse, dropshot, shaky head, and light Texas rig applications. Limited lifetime warranty applies with a service fee.
