The Titan is Phenix's dedicated saltwater offshore series, split across three distinct technique sub-categories: slow pitch/slow jigging, long-fall/stick bait, and popping. These are not interchangeable tools. Each sub-group uses different blank geometry and action tuning for its specific presentation. The series is built on Toray T40 carbon fiber with Nanlite proprietary resins; Fuji K-series SiC guides are acid-wrapped to reduce torque stress under sustained load from large offshore fish. The slow-pitch casting models (TJX-C series, 6'3" and 6'8") are built shorter than most slow-pitch rods and lock down above the foregrip instead of loading all the way to the butt.

Per user reports, this shifts the fighting balance toward comfort over extended sessions at the cost of some jig-action range. The long-fall/stick-bait casting models (TJXL-C, 7'10") address a different jig technique requiring longer fall time with minimal rod movement. The spinning slow-jigging models (TJX-S, 6'3"–7'10") cover the same slow-pitch presentations on spinning gear. The popping sub-group (TPX-S, 7'6"–8'8") is entirely spinning and serves offshore surface species using large poppers and stickbaits. The 22-model lineup divides as follows: 8 slow-pitch casting (6'3" and 6'8" in UL, ML, MH, H), 3 slow-pitch spinning (6'3"–7'10"), 4 long-fall casting (7'10" in L, ML, MH, H), and 7 popping spinning (7'6"–8'8" in M and H).

Popping models are 2-piece. Lure ranges across the popping sub-group (3/4–5oz) confirm use with large surface lures made for tuna, GT, amberjack, and similar species.

A closer look at notable models.

TJX-C63UL Casting · 6'3" · UL

Lightest slow-pitch casting model at UL power. Suited to lighter jig weights in shallower columns or lighter target species where the heavier ML-H models would over-power the presentation and reduce jig flutter.

TPX-S 790H-2 Spinning · 7'9" · XXH

The widest lure range in the popping sub-group at 1 3/8–5oz covers the heaviest poppers in the lineup. At 7'9" it bridges the medium-length 7'6" and longer 8'+ models, offering a balance of casting distance and stick-bait walk-the-dog cadence.

TJXL-C710H Casting · 7'10" · H

Long-fall/stick-bait model at 7'10" H. The longer blank allows extended jig fall time with minimal angler input. A different rhythm than standard slow-pitch. H power addresses the heavier jigs used in deeper columns for bottom species.

TJX-L-S 710M Spinning · 7'10" · H

The only long-fall spinning model in the series. At 7'10" with a 3/4–2.5oz range, it mirrors the TJXL casting sub-group in technique but on spinning gear. Relevant for anglers who prefer spinning for deep jigging.

TPX-S 880H-2 Spinning · 8'8" · H

Longest popping model at 8'8". Extended length maximizes overhead casting distance for offshore surface presentations. Useful when working the edges of bait schools or made for GT and tuna holding at distance from the boat.
