Iron Feather

The Iron Feather is Phenix's dedicated ultralight spinning line, built for trout, panfish, and finesse applications where rod weight and bite detection matter more than casting distance or fish size. It sits in the highest end of Phenix's UL offerings and is marketed at serious freshwater finesse anglers instead of casual weekend users. Lure range of 1/16–3/8 oz and a 1–9 lb line window reflect micro-jig, small swimbait, and light spinner applications.

Blanks use a cross-weave of 36-ton and 40-ton carbon fiber with proprietary Nanolite resins, yielding an extra-fast action with a delicate tip and stiff butt section. Full-set Fuji Titanium Silicon Carbide guides are the defining component, titanium frames keep rod weight down while SiC rings protect light braid or fluorocarbon. The XF (extra-fast) action across all models means the tip loads and rebounds quickly on light lures. Five spinning models, all XF action, 1–9 lb.

Lengths run 7'1"–8'6". Three models are single-piece (suffix -0 or -1); two are two-piece (-2 suffix), including the 7'2" and 7'9" models. No power differentiation within the series, the entire lineup is optimized for the same weight class. Longer models (7'9", 8'6") improve casting range on open water; shorter 7'1" suits tight cover. Casting versions exist is absent.
