The Megalodon Popping series is Phenix's dedicated topwater/popping platform for bluewater species, primarily yellowfin tuna, giant trevally, and amberjack targeted from long-range or charter boats. The lineup fits anglers who pop or walk large surface lures (100–180g rated) over offshore structure and open blue water. These are specialized for sustained fights against large pelagics on PE 8–10 braid.
Blanks are built on T12 and T40 high-modulus graphite from Phenix's Megalodon platform, shared with the jigging lineup. The construction prioritizes backbone and lifting power over casting distance. Fuji KWSG tangle-free guides handle heavy PE without groove wear; Fuji ECS reel seats and high-density EVA grips suit extended fight sessions. All four models are spinning. Four models span 7'6" to 8'8" in H and MH/ML powers.
The 7'6" H (MPX-S760H) and 8' H (MPX-S800H) are the heavy-hitter slots for big poppers and live bait. The 8' ML (MPX-S800ML) handles lighter stickbaits and flutter lures. The 8'8" MH (MPX-S880MH) extends reach for casts to distant bait balls. The ML is the outlier in a primarily heavy lineup, useful when fish are finicky or lure size drops.

Longest model in the series; extra length assists distance casting to feeding schools. MH keeps it versatile enough for mid-size poppers without committing to full H blank stiffness.
