Mirage

The Phenix Mirage is an ultralight spinning series made for finesse freshwater anglers made for trout, panfish, and pressured bass on light line. All models are rated 1–5 lb line and 1/32–1/8 oz lures, a consistent spec across the full length range that defines the series as a dedicated ultralight platform instead of a general finesse range. Blanks are built from Phenix's Net V advanced carbon fiber, a thin-diameter material described as producing a soft, forgiving tip with a solid backbone.

The construction keeps the overall blank weight low for a balanced outfit at extended lengths. Hardware includes Essex SiC guides for smooth low-diameter line passage and a burl reel seat with double-locking nuts. Handles use a combination of custom cork and EVA. Each rod is a 2-piece design with a 50/50 split, making them reasonably portable. Phenix backs the series with a lifetime warranty on material and workmanship defects. The lineup spans 5' to 8' in a tight matrix of lengths, with each length offered in both 1-piece and 2-piece variants (suffix -1 and -2).

Length steps are 5', 5'6", 6'1", 6'7", 7'1", 7'7", 7'8", and 8'. Models at 7'7" and 7'8" differ slightly, the former is a 1-piece, the latter a 2-piece, suggesting the 7'8" is the 2-piece travel equivalent. All 13 models hold the same power/action/rating, so selection is driven entirely by preferred blank length.
