The Redeye Saltwater is Phenix's multi-piece travel rod series for offshore and nearshore saltwater applications. The defining characteristic is its multi-section construction (3-piece and 4-piece) engineered to eliminate the flat spots and power transitions common in travel rods, each section is designed to bend uniformly as if it were a one-piece blank. Target users are travelling anglers who need a serious saltwater rod that fits airline baggage.
Species range from stripers and bluefish to tuna-class fish depending on model. Blanks are 40-ton graphite throughout. Guides are SiC rings with Fuji reel seats. Each rod ships with a felt-lined hard case for transport protection. Three-piece models dominate the lineup; one 4-piece jig model (RTX-C920-J-4) is available. The series spans a wide power range, ML for nearshore inshore work up to a dedicated X2H heavy model, which is unusually broad for a travel series.
The lineup has 6 casting and 2 spinning models. Lengths run from 7'0" to 9'2". Five of the six casting models are 3-piece; one is the 4-piece jig rod. The 9'2" 4-piece jig model is notably distinct in the lineup, it accommodates a longer jigging stroke for deep vertical presentations. Spinning is limited to two 7'6" models in M and H.

A closer look at notable models.
Heaviest model in the lineup at 35-90 lb, the X2H (extra-extra-heavy) power designation is rare in travel rods at 7 feet. Built for tuna-class live bait or heavy jig work from a boat. Users have confirmed the H and XH models handle 40-50 lb bluefin.
Lightest and longest casting model after the jig rod. The 8-foot ML fits nearshore or light offshore situations, yellowtail, smaller tuna, or inshore species, where a travel angler needs reach without heavy line. Distinct from the heavier shorter models.
The only 4-piece model in the series. The 9'2" length and jig designation make this a vertical jigging tool for deep water, unusual for a travel rod at this length. The extra piece aids packability while the jig-specific action handles lift cycles under load.
